We covered ERD diagrams in the class--that is a prerequisite for database design. It helps to translate a real world phenomena to a conceptual ERD mapping to get the entities, relationships and then put them in database tables.
Assignment 3 is posted-which asks you to drawn an ERD diagram. Go through it and start early enough. You can use any tool (e.g., word, power point, or draw it in hands). A good one to use is www.erdplus.com (Links to an external site.). It's an online tool for ERD and most importantly, it's free. Of course, you are allowed to use any other tools if you like. Just do not let the TAs guess from your hand drawings.
In case of any issues, let us know.
